4 Year Old Stats
Matthew and I went to the doctor’s office today. He is a happy, healthy, typical 4 year old, for which we are profoundly grateful.
Height – 99 cm (19%)
Weight – 37 lbs. (58%)
shots – 4 (yikes!)
We had a long wait for the doctor, so by the time she got in he was D-O-N-E done. Except we still had the whole visit to get through. He pulled it together, answered the questions, jumped, hopped, drew, showed off his big-boy underpants, and gave her a hug and kiss when we were done.
Then we had the booster shots. I had prepared him for the possibility of a shot, I assured him it would be short, not too painful, and he would be brave. “No I won’t.” he told me. He did fine for #1 and 2, was upset by #3, and sobbing by #4.
So we went to the bookstore for a dino book and then, because it had been such a long morning, we went out for a lunch date.
The shots were long forgotten by the time we got home and he can hardly wait to tell his father about the dino ABC book and the burrito he ate for lunch.
SFRC
A few months ago I bought a fern to put in the upstairs hallway. It looked good…then it started to look bad. Then it started to look sad and pitiful.
Last night, the Sickly Fern Relocation Committee (SFRC) sprang into action.
Daddy provided the muscle

Matthew focused on appropriateĀ scaffold and irrigation system placement.

David employed his supervisory skills.

Hopefully the fern will return to good health with a few weeks in front of the basement sliding glass doors.
