Matching Game

I found an idea here for a matching game. It seemed easy and fun enough to keep us out of trouble for 10 or 15 minutes, at least.

Using construction paper, scissors and a handy-dandy Sharpie marker, I made a set of number cards 1-12 and a set of cards with stars 1-12. I laid the star cards out on the floor in the circle, and then let Matthew choose a number card from the deck. He had to read the number and find the card with the matching set of stars.

He was very excited to play.

Searching,

counting,

matching!

We reversed the game and put the number cards down, then decided we liked this way better. We played for close to half an hour. And he would have gone longer but David woke up.

So simple, and yet, so fun!
