Asian Festival

We found a fun, free activity for this morning. After church we headed off to the Reston Asian festival, sponsored by Singha beer. Seriously, their signs were everywhere. It was good, a little hot to be outside for three hours, but enough shade to make it bearable. There was a craft table, lots of jewelry for sale, and some very yummy food. The kid’s area had a bunch of moon bounces which Matthew enjoyed and it was near a stage where we got to see some martial arts and Indian dancing.

The martial arts confused Matthew. He couldn’t understand why they kept hitting each other and then taking away the opponent’s stick. I tried to explain it was self-defense. This may come back to haunt us later this week when play group comes to our house.
