Happy Labor Day!

Years ago, I used to go the Annual Labor Day picnic at St. Mary’s church. They had games, a rummage sale, and a BBQ chicken dinner. It was always a lot of fun.

This year, we are spending Labor Day at the beach. So far, the weather has been very nice. We look forward to a week of splashing in the water, digging in the sand, flying a kite, and fishing off the bridge.

Next year, we will spend Labor Day packing a back pack and preparing for the first day of school. I am already a little anxious.  It doesn’t seem possible that my oldest child is fast approaching school age.

But that is next year. Now it’s time to lather on the spf 7,000 and head to the beach.

September 7, 2009. family, holidays.
