Better Ending Than Beginning

We made it through the entire week of soccer camp. Hallelujah!

It was not Matthew’s favorite activity. There were many mornings of tears, and not all of them cried by Mommy. But we stuck it out. Sure, I had to bribe him with donuts and movie night, but he at least tried all the activities on the last two days.

They all got certificates at the end of camp Friday.

Then they took a group shot.

Matthew made sure to stand next to his favorite, Coach Charlotte. He wants to bring her home.

All the coaches are British, so the kids got to “pull” funny faces, instead of “making” them.

Meanwhile, David rocked the soccer shirt.

Matthew really was one of the few kids in his group who had never played any soccer before. Nana said it was a little like watching an English-speaking child get along with a bunch of Spanish speakers. He had No Idea what to do. Hopefully soccer in the fall will be a little easier for this experience. If nothing else, he learned how to finish something he started, whether he liked it or not.

A lot of life is like that.

August 14, 2010. David, Matthew, Mommy.
