Cooking Fish

One of Matthew’s favorite things to do in Delaware is go fishing. This time was no different. He caught half a dozen, most of which he threw back. But one fish wasn’t going to make it. Daddy decided to bring it home so Matthew could show David.

David decided he would touch it, just a little bit.

Matthew really wanted the fish’s lips closed.

I don’t remember who suggested it, but the idea of cooking the fish was brought up. Matthew thought that sounded like a good plan, not that he had any intention of cleaning or eating the fish. But he was happy to hang out and watch Yeye cook it.

In the end, Matthew did have a very small (one might say “minute”) taste of the fish. It was good, although blue gill are so small it was hard for the rest of us to even have a mouthful.
