The Cone Of Shame*

* If you never watched “Up” that reference won’t make any sense. Go rent it. It’s a great movie.

Lucy went in to be spayed last week (which is a really nice euphemism for “total hysterectomy). She came home groggy and unhappy. We made her as comfortable as we could, but she had to wear the cone (or “Elizabethan collar” as it’s known for billing purposes).

She hated the cone, but if we didn’t keep it on her she would lick at her stitches and that would be bad.

Poor Lucy. The boys tried really hard to make her feel better.

until they got all distracted by how funny it looked to put the cone on themselves.

Lucy is all better now. The boys are just as silly as ever.

Ever since I saw “Up” and see dogs with the cone of shame on, I think it’s so cute and hysterical. It’s seriously one of my favorite movies! Btw, my husband, Daniel, used to work with you husband in the AF and told me to check out your blog 🙂
